The perfect weather from the weekend continues,
but the swell fades. The weakening east swell is only managing 2
foot sets at exposed beaches…whilst south facing Bondi is only
producing dribbles for beginners.
Winds are currently from the NW
and will swing SW later today. Max. land temp 19, water 18, high
tide 12:15pm, low tide 6am. Should be slightly bigger tomorrow (3ftish)
with early morning offshores…yup.
I am being asked often why there is not so many shots
of female surfers on Aquabumps. Well the answer is quite simple
– most mornings there are 100 guys out and only a couple of girls,
if any – making it hard to get a shot. In Mentawai there are around
1000 blokes to every 1 female surfer…So it’s not intended to have
more blokes than girls, just hard to get shots when there are so
few girls out there. So chix, get out there…I will shoot.
After a great Indonesian boat charter in July, here
is the online
photo gallery to distract you from your work today.
We’re going again in late October for 12 nights and have some spare
spots on the boat. Last year late season trips scored the best waves
of the year. Cost $4k for boat ticket which includes everything
but airfares. The boat: luxurious brand spanka’ Tengirri
48 foot powercat (same as last trip), total 6 surfers only. Girls
obviously more than welcome, in fact the charter boat would probably
give you a discount if you’re female. For more info contact
us.
