bondi junkies
Waves have gone from messy to shabby onshore junk. It’s barely surfable – so just fuggedaboutit. At least there is some sunshine. Talking of junkies, let’s talk about the Astra Hotel, a heritage listed building in Bondi…yeah that big mustard coloured, 6 storey slab of concrete above Motion and Bondi Tratt. It’s been around since the 1915s, best views in town as shared by the Packers only doors up the road. Did you know that it was notorious place to buy illegal late-night liquor and heroin? Also legend has it that a patron was beaten to death with pool ques at an AC/DC concert there. Well you can now buy one of those little rooms with a view for only $330k, but you must be over 55 years old as it’s a retirement village now. Maybe we’ll put it in your name Jamie. Enough history lessons. Swell comes up tonight but the nemesis onshores persist. Wait till it calms ::uge
