Spring 1st September 2008
We’re in the home straight for summer now, you can feel it. 1st day of spring and the sun is belting down. With a maximum of 20 degrees today you should try and get outside – especially since the forecast is for rain from Wednesday onwards.
After a unexpected great weekend of surfing (yes I got it wrong, I’ll eat those predictions from Friday) today is a dismal 1 foot. Last Saturday there were some mighty fine lefts to be had…the sand bank setup is a cracker at present. Let’s hope it can withstand the approaching storms this week. (unlikely)
This week the deal is for tiny to small surf – Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday from lunchtime onwards a new south swell will start to rumble. (flanked with 20 knots of SE – onshore mush). Thursday it gets more east in it and increases in size and period.(but still onshore). Then from Friday onwards there is a 4 day window of decent long period east swell that I think it s going to be fun. (and favourable winds).
