soaked 25th September 2008
I am a big fan of this weather. Doesn’t get much better. Even though it’s only toppin’ 20 degrees, today is soaked with sunshine, there is hardly any wind and Bondi had a beginner’s peak in the southern corner (scrappy 1-2 foot). There seems to be a decent chunk of sand under that peak so the next swell should be fun – should the bank remain.
The water is still chilly, well compared to Fiji it is. Currently 18 degrees. High tide 5am, low 10:40am
You won’t find a decent wave until Wednesday next week. Pack the boards away, fix dings and find the old beach umbrella. This weekend is a beach weekend ::uge

As a female surfer, i’m wondering firstly why there are no pictures of chicks on waves? Are the guys taking all the waves and not giving the chicks any or are you just not photographing them? Secondly where are the shots of the scantily dressed males? I’m wondering if you blokes are genuine about promoting surfing as a sport for everyone, or if this is just a site for blokes?

Thanks for your msg.
Today a few girls were in the water. I swam around trying to shoot them. I didn’t get a good shot of them. That’s just how it is. So I ran the best shots I could today. Unfortunately they didn’t include female surfers. I encourage girls to surf, I will shoot them when possible but 90% of the time, 95% of the surfers are male. I don’t normally see many girls out at all in the mornings. If I do, I try and get a good shot of them – but it doesn’t always work out.
This year, to even it up a little, I tried to organise things like female surfers only days on Aquabumps. which went down well.

Thanks for your response uge. Glad to hear that you do try to get some shots of female surfers on waves. You didn’t answer my question around where the shots of scantily clad boys are though! I love these emails because the reports are good and the pictures are superb. What I don’t like is how they are catered for boys only. I don’t care to see a picture of a chicks arse in my daily surf report. I’m more than happy to let that pass if I get the odd picture of a nice looking male arse on my daily surf report, but so far, I haven’t seen one. Half the reason I asked if this site is for blokes only is to understand why the arse shots cater to the male audience only.
Looking forward to seeing you balancing things out with some good pics of nice looking boys wearing not much.
