Stealth 17th October 2008
Oh my, what a day. Escape the financial mess…hit the beach. Who needs shares anyway.
At sunrise there was only one guy out at Bondi, local shaper and all-round nice guy Andrew Harris (AH Surfboards). Everyone had slept in as a stealth little bump broke in the corner defying the swell charts.
AH picked off wave after wave before the crowds caught on. Sets around 2 foot…the odd 2.5 footer, super clean and fun. Probably the best it’s been all week and what a surprise since it was meant to be near flat. I don’t think many other places would be surfable today.
Salubrious weather at 24 degrees and the water finally came up a few digits. Wind: NW 5/10 kts, turning NE 10/15 kts in the afternoon. I wouldn’t expect this stealth bump to hang around for tomorrow as its easing once again tonight. (really)
Mosman surfection is still putting on some mega deals, buy one springie get one free type stuff. Worth checking out 522 Military Road Mosman. The Aquabumps gallery is open all weekend as usual 10am to 4pm, 98 Brighton Boulevard North Bondi…

Yes we had the same beautiful conditions at Avalon Beach this morning. By the time I left a 7am there were four standup paddlers (how about some piccies of these guys) and about 10 long boards and racing mals. Really feels like summer is here. Yeah!!

As a previous resident of a cracking pad in Ramsgate Ave and now residing in Radelaide, your daily mail makes it bearable. We miss those Bondi mornings. Perfection. Don’t ever stop loving it. We now dwell in the hills and have koalas and amazing birdlife but a rolling set, sunrise and beach culture is the ultimate. Enjoy and keep up your fantastic talent, so many of us appreciate it.
