With all this swell around somewhere has got to be going off. A brief drive thru the eastern suburbs beaches proved fruitless – fools gold. This decent NE swell is completely missing Bondi and streaming into Bronte and Tama – but the high tide is killing it – fatness everywhere and many closing out. Didn’t really see anyone catch a decent wave all morning, surprisingly.

All the action is on the other side of the bridge. Northern beaches would be pumping. NE swell would be gravitating to beaches like Manly (3-4 foot). Nice day too, forecasted 27 degrees so smoke the wagon north or deep south to score.

Forecast for the weekend is for this NE swell to run out of puff tomorrow and a new south swell to arrive on Sunday. Wind looks favourable all weekend (WSW or WNW) and you’ll find 3-4 footers on both days. Next Tuesday is starting to look special with a good south swell – dang.

Single Fin Classic tomorrow

Tomorrow if you’re down at Bondi you’ll see a bunch of weirdos dress in tight 70’s gear – its the Bondi Boardriders Club. They’ll throw out the odd 70’s dance moves then surf a single fin. The annual event is on again and some big names coming down from all over Australia. (Webber boys, Davo Davidson…) more info
