I’ve filed Aquabumps reports from all over the globe but never from a factory floor in mainland China with 10,000 employees running around (yes, that’s ten thousand! and that’s just in this plant!). I couldn’t be any further from a beach today…. I showed the plant workers pictures of where I live and they think I am joking as everything here is concrete. Lots of workers actually live on the factory grounds in a mini city of cheap housing – consider yourself lucky next time you go for a wave before work! I would take some pics but they’re a bit weird on cameras so far.
Today’s images were shot by fashion photographer Kane Skennar. Kane lives up at North Bondi and you’ll see him out surfing at Gentleman’s hour (middle of the day). The conditions look quite horrible with howling 20 knot onshores and a easterly swell. Kane told me that there were very few people around…and probably better suited to an early check into the office.

I got up because I could not sleep with thinking of all of the things I had to do. Had a look at todays photos and what you had written about China and it puts everthing into perspective.
I will sleep now with these images of Bondi in my minds eye
