Gallery Production Manager – Full Time 23rd January 2013
At Aquabumps, we are passionate about the beach, surf and photography. We are looking for an extremely organised production manager with fantastic customer service skills to join our team.
The role:
Being in charge of production at Aquabumps means you are across the whole retail process in the business. From start to finish, you look after the customer and the artwork they have selected, until it reaches their hands safely. You must be passionate about customer service and be a perfectionist when it comes to details.
We have been in operation for nearly 14 years and we are at the forefront of the online photography scene. We have a high demand for the fine artworks and deal with customers from all over the globe as well as local clientele.
As an organised and enthusiastic team player, you will use your skills to recommend artworks to customers, and be responsible for the technical side of production.
You will be responsible for sales and production and ensure customer satisfaction by:
- Being a fantastic sales person. A great deal of your time will be spent selling artworks on the gallery floor, so you must be confident and up to speed with all your product knowledge.
- Confident and Assertive – you will be managing suppliers and liaising with clients to ensure that all our artworks are delivered on time. As all our artworks are hand-made, it means keeping a daily check on all production processes.
- Organised – With every order, comes the administration to make sure you are on top of your work. We sell artwork in store, as well as on-line and over the phone, so you need to keep abreast of all systems and know the ETA of everything during the various cycles of production.
- Detailed – We send artworks all over the world and you will be responsible for packing artworks safely, booking in shipments (making sure the item gets there safely and in the most cost-effective way) and also dealing with various courier companies to get the best service for our clients. You will also liaise with the recipients expecting artwork and manage expectation with deliveries.
- Tech-Savvy – We want someone who knows their technology inside out. There is a lot of web site maintenance in this business, so you must know your way around a computer. Competence with WordPress is a huge bonus. You will also be managing our unique retail system – which involves database management and a keen eye for detail.
- Computer literate – Excel, Word, Illustrator and Photoshop is required. You may also be required to work with large digital files.
- Good on telephone and email – pre and post-sales communication is an important part of the job. You must have perfect spelling and grammar and an excellent telephone manner.
- A competent multi-tasker – running the production at Aquabumps means having an eye for details and being very good with processes. The systems will become second nature to you and can be repetitive, but you thrive in being busy and doing multiple things at once.
What’s in it for you:
Aquabumps is looking for a committed full-timer. (This position is not suitable for working holiday applicants.)
We will invest time and energy to train you to become an integral part of our team. We want someone who is hard-working to be at the forefront of a leading gallery. The environment is busy, and you’ll find working here rewarding and fun.
In return, we ask that you have:
- A passion for the beach, surf and photography.
- Demonstrated experience in production skills and management of stock and orders, preferably in a retail environment
- An organised style; you thrive on the buzz you can only get from those unpredictable days and getting everything ticked off your check list.
- Be the ultimate multi-tasker; you can do everything at once – and without mistakes!
- Ability to influence and communicate effectively
- A computer-literate, a savvy problem-solver.
- Be available to work across the store opening hours (9.30am – 6pm), including weekends
- The salary package will suit the candidates experience.
If this sounds like the type of job you would thrive on, we’d love to hear from you. Apply with a 1 page resume and cover letter to Gloria@Aquabumps.com to join the growing Aquabumps family.
(Only sucessful candidates will be contacted for interview)
