Dropping in, Maroubra

B A C K L I T

We’ve had the best week of light. It makes such a difference shooting with crisp, golden, winter light. We’ve also had amazing waves with a solid batch of ENE swell all week long. Today is the smallest day of the swell so far – but still 3 foot’n’fun. From here on, it will go 1-2 foot for 3 days.

The weather is going to be amazing over the weekend…plan to be outdoors.

  1. Hey Uge, it was great to see you in the water hard at work this morning. I had to check this mornings post to see if I might have jagged an image from the north end but sadly no. Thanks for all my morning stoke you’ve provided over the years.

    1. I instantly fell in love with this van!! Started doing some googling… ok, Morris J2… nice.. WANT ONE! wonder how much they cost… Stumbled across a forum thread of a guy converting one into … WHAT, AN ELECTRIC CAR?? And, wait a minute… The plates match with this one!!

Haha, impressive work indeed! How is it holding up almost two years later? Still electric?

Well, a cool van it is! And they seem affordable when VW T1 prices have gone through this ceiling. Wonder if they exist in LHD…

  3. Hey Uge, i simply love your pics, and the “dropping in Maroubra” is really awesome. Youre such an inspiration, thanks for the newsletters, they really enlighten my day. Big hugs from San Sebastián- Vasque country.

  4. Great shots Uge,

Came into your gallery today and was stoked to see you. Your work is amazing and your a big inspiration.

    Keep up the great work.

  5. Hey Uge,
Great shots as always. Must say I dig that van, waaay cool. Electric? Typical Pommy power horse there! I wonder if they were the old milko vans from the ’60s. I think they were electric so that the milkman didn’t wake people as he delivered bottles to your front door.
