Soak

I’m all for trying to create something interesting from the mundane. That’s the biggest challenge in taking photos…I think. Especially shooting the same beach for 15 years…gotta challenge yourself, daily. This week has been a tough one though. The surf has been nothing but manky wash (mostly unsurfable)…the light has been pretty off and the rain has spoiled most vantage points. The great news is that next week looks a lot dryer than the past few. Phew.

What I am really excited about is that Red Bull’s Cape Fear event will be held this Saturday (7:30am). Yes kids, it’s ooorrrn. Finally. One of the most dangerous waves in the world is going to host all the big names in a 1 day battle at Cape Solander (Ours). The event is a closed event…that means you can’t rock up. The ONLY way to watch it live is at www.redbullcapefear.com and Fuel TV. I hear that is because the event is being held in a National Park. The swell looks chunky (6-8ft)…so clear your day on Saturday and watch the action. It’s going to be mental. Hopefully I’ll have some good pics for you, unfortunately not from the water (boooo).
