1st light is seeping into town real early now. Like 5:15am. Half of Sydney is getting up for bit of morning activity…if you were a tourist down at Bondi this morning you’d thought Sydneysiders are all mental.

If you peeled yourself outta bed this morning for a wave you’d be disappointed as yesterdays swell was battered overnight by a NE gale. It’s breaking around waist high +. It was so fat at 6am with an in coming tide…hard to stay on ’em and you’d need a fat board with plenty of meat to do anything resembling a turn.

It will heat up to 26 degrees today with strong warm offshore winds. The swell will dwindle to oblivion (unrideable). Perfect weather Thursday – Sunday as summer takes it first bite (30 on the weekend! crank the barbie)

Things to do: This weekend Board Sports Australia opens at Royal Hall of Industries at Moore Park (next to Hordern Pavilion). 23rd and 24th September. 9am to 6pm. Go check out everything to do with boards sports, snowboards, wake, surf, wind, kite, skate whatever. Website

Things to read: If you’ve seen a chopper lurking around Eastern Suburbs this year with a bald bloke hanging out the side shooting pics, fear not, ain’t no paparazzi or STAB shoot – Tim Mooney has been shooting his new book on Eastern Suburbs Aerial shots, from Bondi to the Bridge. Look

Random things: This is a totally random question, but I always get a good response saving me hrs, anyone know a good air conditioner installer dude? This Aquabumps gallery is cookin’ in the mild heat. Contact
