brink.
A trickling pulse continues to push 2 foot rideable waves into the southern corner this morning down at Bondi. You could just smell change in the air as an early morning offshore (w) was starting to kick onshore (s/se) by the time I put my cameras away. That onshore will increase to 20 knots by the end of the day.

Good news is that today’s south change is bringing swell. As they’ve been enjoying down in Victoria over the weekend, we get our dose all week, but it’s flanked with a nuisance onshore.

From a far, this weekend looks to be a good for a surf. Plenty of swell, just pray the winds back off. So I know most of you are using APEC as an excuse to disappear on a surf trip out of town – it looks good so far. Book it.

get up – media stunt
On Friday the 5th of September at 8am on Bondi beach, Get Up are going to perform a stunt for the world’s media relating to adopting international binding greenhouse emission reduction targets at the APEC (and to continue on toward the UN meeting later in the year in Bali). Check out www.getup.org.au for more information on the campaign and sign the online petition.

The plan is to get as many people there at Bondi to form a human climate action target on the beach around a 10m by 10m banner and then have some people paddle it out on the water.

They need bodies (live ones) and surfers…as many as possible to help. For more information people can contact Scott scott@getup.org.au
