fickle
Really early this morning there was promise of a small swell pulse. 6am, I saw sets at mid to south Bondi tipping the 3 foot mark and of decent quality. But for some reason within 1hr it switched to 1-2 foot of weakness 8am to 9am. Perhaps approaching low tide (9:30am) sucked all the goodness or this dead south swell is just running out of steam.

From now until Saturday the surf looks prettymicro – sub 1 footers. So a good opportunity to catch up on some work. Or watch the Billabong Pro Tahiti thats finally kicking off tomorrow (after more than half of the waiting period is nearly over – they’re just starting with a promise of swell tomorrow). Defending Billabong Pro Tahiti Champion Damien Hobgood (USA) has officially withdrawn from competition with a fracture shoulder freesurfing Chopes 1 month ago.

"I wanted to wait until the last minute to see if it would be possible for me to surf but my arm was too weak to be able to pull that off," Hobgood said. "Also if I would have hit my shoulder again, that could have put me out for a lot longer and after making that mistake last year, I didn’t want to repeat it. I should be able to surf Fiji so I am really looking forward to getting back in the water for that event."
