shades of grey

Such a dark morning was kinda hard peeling yourself out of bed (let alone shoot any decent pics). When you got down to Bondi at 7am it was much smaller and weaker than yesterday. Guess this is because the swell direction has swung to East and better suiting joints like Maroubra. It is still more than surfable with 2 footers rocking into the corner – large hungry crowd eager to fulfil their morning quota.

Looks like the swell will be bigger on the weekend (and from the south). It should get over 6 foot but I am a bit suss of the winds, says SW tomorrow 15-20 knots and Sunday SSW 15 to 20 knots. Not bad for Bondi but don’t expect clean waves…

The Changing Colours Movement – benefit concert is on this Sunday to save those Whales. 1pm at North Bondi it all starts with a Aboriginal whale call (At Byron they got 30 whales into the bay), and then up at the North Bondi RSL for the concert. Everyone is welcome.

Mosman Surfection are having a big sale this weekend – 30% off current model steamers, $150 of top-end boards. 22 Military Road, Mosman Tel: 02 9969 1011 – good time to splurg.

The Aquabumps Gallery is open all weekend 10am to 4pm. You’ll find it right behind the North Bondi RSL (98 Brighton Boulevard North Bondi). Drop by this weekend to fill those blank walls you’ve been staring at.
