Welcome to the Mentawais…for the next 12 days Aquabumps will be drifting in the Indonesia archipelago searching for decent waves.
Based 90 miles off Sumatra, these islands host some of the best waves in the world. Not much else out here…plenty of coconut trees, razor sharp coral reefs and warm water.
Our first day was on fire…waves were 4-5 foot and piping. A good way to dust off the travel scum. Mentwais isn’t the easiest place to get to… 2 planes and a 12hr boat ride.
Have to go…boat is rocking and we’re on the move. ::uge

Hey you Aussies – it was a pleasure surfing and sharing those great waves we had in the Mentawis especially at Machorones – good one and regards to the crew – thanks for all the laughs bummer about the Brazilians hey.
