Driving down the line with Bali in the background

Hiya. A delayed flight meant a couple of hours to kill and thought I’d pump out a update from the island paradise of Bali. Haven’t been shooting much as I’m having a break but there were a few big sets at Uluwatu on the weekend worth raving about. Friday/Saturday saw a spike in swell at Ulus with 4-6 foot bombs and the odd clean up set. The crowds are intense with a team of Brazilians camping on the beach at Ulus catching the first waves of the day. Last night was pumping…about 50-60 guys out!

The island is now starting to cool down from its peak season Euro break…the strangest thing is the rain – lots of it. I’ve NEVER seen so much rain up here and we’re in DRY season. Crazy.

I get bucket loads of questions on Bali, to save some time…(this is not advertising kids) we’ve stayed at Sentosa in Seminyak (nice), villas at Canggu and now the luxury cliff edge Alila Villas at Uluwatu (which is off the hook – must see). If you’re coming up I’d suggest moving around the island like this – even popping over to Lembongan for a few nights as there are so many faces to a Bali holiday…it’s not all Kuta and hair plats.

Back home the waves look small today but you’ve got a massive swell hitting on Friday…prepare the Rhino chasers.

Off to Maldives for some clear water…later, uge
