Nice blue walls of this mornings session

Winter light

I like this time of year around Bondi. The hordes have left, the line-up is sparse, winter storms create plenty of south swell and the light makes for good camera fodder. The sun now rises side onto the beach which is better for these morning shots as I’m not shooting directly into the sun. Don’t get me wrong, backlit green waves and silhouettes are cool, but change is cool too. The winter air just seems crisper, dryer making them colours pop. Ok, enough herbal rants…surf is good too. Super clean, 2 maybe 3 footers and fun! It’s going to get bigger as the day progresses – max 4 foot. The wind is howling and freezing 20 knots…best find that steamer in the bottom of the cupboard.

GF

Me best mate Ness has been talking about starting her own blog for about 50 years. She’s been instrumental in the development of Aquabumps…and sits on our board of directors. She’s smart, a hot photographer, clever writer and would give Gordon Ramsay a run for his money in the kitchen. Well, she’s now a Coeliac (pronounced seel-ee-ak ) which means she hunts down the two words GLUTEN and FREE where ever we chow down now. Finally, after intense pressure, she’s launched “The Low Flying Duck”. What the duck? A blog about happy gluten free eating (the non-cardboard type meals). Hava a look (she’s gonna peak about me writing this, I’m sure she’ll say the website is not ready for another 5 years – perfectionist)
