Jono, finding a peak to himself...

Fizzer

I’ve written the start to this daily email 3 times and don’t really have anything amazing to say. It’s well, um, 1-2 foot and junkie out there. The good news is that at 6:20am there wasn’t a soul out on the main peak. I’m torkin’ not one human – not even a beginner drifting down from north. Jono and I both were surprised at the emptiness seeing yesterday’s gridlock stirred up so many. Surf if real keen – or go for a run.

Have you heard about the 27 degree day forecasted for Saturday. This is the first official beach day of the season. Grab the brolly, the bake oil and secure your position on the grassy knoll – she’s gonna be good one.

Dave.
A guy dave emailed me. I don’t know him, but he lives around here. The poor bloke has been diagnosed with a brain tumour this March. An aggressive one. One that most people only survive a few months with. The poor fella has no insurance or assistance or income – just a positive spirit to fight the cancer. He’s making a documentary of his whole experience. Watch it here

  1. Hey Uge – regardless of the fact you don’t think you have anything amazing to say today….. your dailly words and pics are one of the highlights of my day – brings the sunshine into this office anyway 🙂

  2. Great eclectic snaps today, Uge. Esp the colours in the “steaming to Islands” shot. Brilliant. Hope you are feeling better after yesterday………….!!

  3. Uge,

Noticed you don’t put the time next to your pics anymore, is this a conscious decision? Personally I liked it as it put things in context a bit more.

Nice surfing uncrowded waves this morning.

    1. Hey D, yes. Intention. I pretty much shoot Bondi at 7am every single day, so it seems a little bit overkill writing 7am Bondi every single day! Get’s a bit monotonous

  4. My girlfriend and I took a dip at 7am and saw you shooting. We both looked at the chop and the grey-canvass that you had to work with and thought “poor fella, what’s he gonna come up with? But knowing Uge, he’ll make something of the mess out there…” and you did. Thanks.

    All the best to Dave.
