Maccas, golden moment as a bomb hits

The Big Boys

We have a giant rogue swell in town…it’s hitting the breakwalls at the back of the beaches. I’ve seen waves this morning up around 8-10 feet. I’ve also spent around 3 hours in the car driving around, stalking rideable swells, but really…it’s not on – too windy.  A couple of mates surfed a bombie out of town with a ski…but that’s about all the activity around here.

It is still great to go down the beach and watch the raw power of the ocean tear along our coastline. Go have a look as today is the peak of the swell.

Port Macquarie Australian Surf Festival

Next week 400 surfers will head to the wave rich area of Port Macquarie to battle it out for 25 Aussie titles. It’s going to be big couple of weeks up there kicking off on August 11 to 25. Did you know there are 17 white sandy surf beaches at Port Mac? Hope to see you up there. More info on this website

  1. Just back from photographing the swell in the South Coast. Only thing I saw that was even remotely surfable was south Werri.
