Coffs Harbour, Blake Thornton scorching on his backhand

B A N A N A

We’ve escaped the cool waters of the Mid-North Coast and landed 3 hours north, at Banana Coast – or better known as Coffs Harbour. Never been here before and plenty of surf options with bays facing all directions. The swell is still NE and so is the wind so Northern corners are the go.

The floods up here have been pretty bad, road closures and plenty of destruction around Kempsey. The weather is fine up here today but sounds like a storm is brewing for tomorrow.

Next stop, Byron Bay (good for the southerlies!)

  1. Judging by that look out photo you guys surfed Shelly beach, the back beach of Emerald, protected in a NE, great break. Had some long left handers there over the holidays. Don’t recall a top notch swimmer cam like that there though!

  2. If that mobile broadband unit I got to you last week helped brought that swimmer cam on here mate, then I feel pretty priveliged, awesome stuff mr Tan !
