Lucky 8

The number 8 is considered very lucky to the Chinese. Pronounce ‘Ba’…similar to ‘Fa’ which means making a fortune! This morning was 8 degrees down the beach. A very r-ucky morning indeed! A wealth of sunshine, windless beaches and warm water. All we need is swell. Great conditions for my six-year-old son. Come on Huey! Throw us a bone. The next time you’ll surf is probably Friday.

I hope you’ve all been watching the opening days of the Corona J-Bay open. It’s been PUMPING. How good were JJF’s and Slater’s tubes? Catch up here Today is a lay day, but you can read all about it.

  1. I love your photos and eagerly anticipate the morning emails, but this morning’s selection of shots was particularly fabulous. Absolutely stunning. Thank you for capturing it!! I’m a Bondi girl and an ocean swimmer but soon to move over the harbour bridge and away from the beach, to Neutral Bay. I shall miss the beach mornings so much but at least I’ll get my fix through these emails and come down to enjoy them in person whenever I can. Thank you, so much thanks for the beauty captured and life inspired

    1. Such a nice comment, thanks Anna. Comments like these make it all worth while.

I’ve been shooting Aquabumps daily for 18 years now and still love hearing from the readers.

      Cheers, uge

    2. Agree totally, Uge is an artist with the lens! I love it how he gets creative when there’s no waves to shoot. You rock Uge!
