The Slow

I was a little shocked to see good (ok, maybe just surfable) waves down at our beaches this morning. Hell, even Bondi had a wave that was not just a shorey. Has the sand finally moved? Don’t get too excited…still, plenty of bank making required.

Waves are definitely over head high. The winds are much lighter, but the ocean hasn’t settled in yet. It will. Be patient. North winds tomorrow morning which will mean clean conditions. Swell will hold for a few days.

I’m one of 8 photographers speaking at the Aperture Conference in Sydney (April). Watch this very short video to get an idea of what it’s all about.

  1. Hi there was the multi lip pic a Bronte reef double up or a bunker rip bowl wave? As it may indicate how much sand is flowing northward to feed the banks at Bondi….my understanding of the east coast current is that Bondi catches the sand that moves northward???? .That Bronte rip bowl sweep can be one of the most challenging to paddle against locally ….thanks for the pics!!
