Few places on Earth serve up such easy waves as Bondi. It’s a beginner’s paradise out there — especially today. You couldn’t script it any softer: light, crumbling, multiple peaks running along all 900 metres of beach. And all this, just seven clicks from a global city centre.
The 100-litre foamie army was out in force, sliding across 1–2 ft dribbles from a lingering weak NE swell. I counted about four peaks in operation at sunrise under gloomy grey skies, but by 8:30 a.m. it miraculously burned off — revealing bluebird conditions.
Only a top of 21 °C today — mild compared to our record-hot October. Saturday’s shaping up beautifully though: 30 °C and sunny, a proper beach day.
Melbourne Cup’s on, if you’re wondering why no one’s replying to calls or emails. Do people still celebrate that? Once upon a time, when I was a corporate jockey chained to a cubicle, it was huge. Not so much in Bondi… that’s for sure.
Have a great day in the sun.
Adios, Ugios.
