5 a.m. starts again — early! But worth it. The high cloud caught all the colour this morning — a spray of pinks and purples over Bondi that lasted a few sweet minutes before the light flattened out.
We’re wedged between two south swells right now — smaller than yesterday, but at least it’s sunny and the conditions are clean all day. The beach is heaving for a midweeker… 11 a.m. and it looks like half of Sydney’s either “working from homies” or visiting from overseas.
The good news? Tomorrow should see a new little pulse of south swell, beefing things back up a notch.
The sandbanks are a bit all over the shop. Down south it’s swiss-cheesed with deep holes, and nothing’s really doing. Middle of the beach has a tidally sensitive bank, but the lifeguards have dropped the flags there — so that’s out of play.
Good day for a swim, a stroll, or just soaking up the sunshine.
