Quite an uneventful morning down there. The surf was pretty lame, and so was the sunrise. No colour, no light show, just dark, gloomy skies and the odd 1–2 footer wobbling through the bay.
It does feel a touch warmer than previous mornings. Icebergs is getting a clean-up, the lineup was relatively empty, and even the sand seemed to be taking the day off. Not many PT sessions, soft-sanders or volleyballers. The whole beach had a bit of a lay-down vibe about it.
If you find yourself wandering up Hall Street today, pop into the Aquabumps Gallery at 64 Hall Street. While you’re at it, check out our Morning People portrait series, shot for Akubra, hanging at 39 Hall Street — a little closer to the beach, on the opposite side of the road. A collection of local characters photographed at first light, all wearing those legendary Aussie hats.
As you were.
