A little bit boring in Bondi land this morning.
No one was surfing. I’m not sure if it was the close-outs on the low tide at sunrise, the recent shark activity in the bay, or simply the cold. Regardless, it was a pretty uneventful morning as the swell continued to drop.
Waist-high waves, abundant sunshine and 10 knots of chilly westerly wind.
It’ll reach 16 degrees today, probably feeling warmer in the sun. When that big ball dips, grab the jacket.
City2Surf hits Bondi this Sunday. It’s the 56th running of the famous 14-kilometre race from Hyde Park to Bondi Beach. The first race in 1971 had just 1,576 starters. This year it’s sold out with 90,000 runners, plus a huge crowd of supporters descending on Bondi.
Expect chaos. Roads around Campbell Parade, Hall Street, Curlewis Street and Gould Street will be affected from around 6am, with most reopening by 4pm.
Aquabumps Gallery will be open at 64 Hall Street from 10am to 6pm, so swing by on your way to the pub!
Seeya!
