The swell has calmed down from yesterday, but there’s still plenty of size around.
It’s a south swell at 184 degrees with an 11-second interval, and Bondi is still seeing waves well over head high, with the bigger ones around head-and-a-half. Unfortunately, a lot of them are just shutting down across the bay.
Conditions are much cleaner though. WSW winds are only 4 knots, so this morning is definitely your best window before a bit more breeze gets into it this afternoon.
I popped around to Bronte for a look, but the 8:09am high tide was really filling it up. I reckon it’ll improve as the tide drops.
It’s another reasonably cool one, around 13 degrees early and a top of 18. The good news is we should see some sunshine breaking through from around 3pm.
Looking ahead, I reckon Bondi will be fun (surfing) all weekend as this swell settles and cleans itself up.
I’m heading back to Indonesia for the third time this year, off on another little island odyssey chasing perfect waves and barrels. Posts might be a little intermittent while I try to snag a few for myself.
The Aquabumps Gallery is open all weekend at 64 Hall Street, Bondi Beach.
But note: new weekend hours 10-6 Saturday, but 11-4 on Sundays.
Have a good weekend.
