Hours – Casual, ad-hoc role (4hrs -12 hrs a week)
We’re on the lookout for a friendly, switched-on human to join the Aquabumps frontline this summer — the gallery floor. If you love beautiful imagery, the beach and talking to people about making their walls less boring… keep reading.
This is a casual, ad-hoc role — perfect for someone who wants a flexible gig with a seriously good vibe. You’ll be the first face people see when they wander into our Bondi gallery, helping them navigate our huge range of artwork, matching the right piece to the right home, chatting through sizes, framing, styles… and even rustling up quick mock-ups so customers can see how an artwork might look on their walls. (It blows minds. Every time.)
The Gig
- Based on the shop floor at our Bondi gallery — greeting customers with good energy 🙂
- Helping people understand our artwork range (it’s big!)
- Offering sizing and styling advice, mini consultations and mock-ups.
- Being part of a small team that prides itself on exceptional customer service and a boutique, handmade product.
- Mostly weekends, with the occasional Friday or Monday when the roster needs love.
- Summer is our busy season — some weeks might be 4 hours, others could be 12–15 hours (hello Christmas madness).
- You’ll need to be comfortable with ad-hoc shifts, with plenty of notice, and happy to jump in when the surf’s flat and the tourists are flowing.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Retail and sales experience preferred (art, homewares or gallery experience = bonus high-five).
- Weekend and summer season availability is essential.
- Strong communication skills — in person, email, phone and live chat.
- Well-presented, confident, positive, and genuinely good with people.
- Team player with a can-do attitude — no divas.
- Must have full Australian work rights (sorry, no Working Holiday Visas).
