Find your own beach on a bike

Rotto

Today is hosting some of the worst surf conditions I’ve seen in a while.

Onshore 1 footers with insistent rain. Can only get better from here…not for a few days though.

Sitting in the car park I opted not to shoot any pictures of this ‘Turneresque’ grey landscape – instead here is a little island 18 kilometres off the coast of Perth – yeah Rotto! This A-Class reserve has some of the best beaches in the world. Even when the Freo Doctor is tearing through Perth you can still find a secluded, protected bay with ridiculously aqua coloured water. Not a bad option for today.

Evolution

Time to get fit and burn off the Long weekend indulgences. Evolution run 6am training sessions predominantly in the beaches of the east and now offering 6 free sessions to Aquabumps readers. Call 0438 13 15 17 or check out their website

The colours are something else over there

Think we'll go the beach on the right today

Enticing water colours

Anchor up and have a lazy afternoon

  1. Hi Uge,

What’s the shark sitch like at Rottnest?

    Is there waves there?

I booked the Tengirri by the way. Good suggestion.

    Thanks

    JM

  2. Sharks – ah yes….they are there. big ones at this time of year. So keep your eyes open.
Yes there are waves. Good ones, but best at Spring or Autumn.
Tengirri – no worries. great boat…you’ll be happy! uge
