Most nights in Mentawais it glasses off. Pure silk. Best time to surf. The land cools down and the coastal convection relaxes. Last night was pretty special…awesome colours and 4-6 foot waves. We surfed a break in the main part of Mentawais – in the Playgrounds region. I won’t lie – it’s busy. Land camps are in abundance and long boats filled the channel. I hear it’s been pretty small for a week or so, so everyone was out to score a barrel.
We’re now motoring off, far from humans to seek uncrowded perfection.

Awesome pics of Playgrounds. Bank Vaults dishing the goods as well as some small E-bay Im guessing. Definitely busier these days than it used to be. But still, its quite as busy as Bondi 🙂
