Italy has a famed ‘beach culture’, sans sand, but with deck chairs (elevating your comfort from the rocks) and a steady flow of appetisers to keep you immersed in the soft, hazy Mediterranean outlook.
I’ve been shooting the Amalfi & Capri region for years. It’s such a beach-lovers indulgence.

Private beach clubs in Italy, called a 'lido', 'bagno', or ‘stabilimenti balneari’, come in various shapes, styles and standards, but all subscribe to that particular aesthetic of matching sun-lounger (lettini) and ombrellone (parasol). You have to pay an entrance fee to access them and their facilities, which usually includes the rental of your own lounger and umbrella for the day.

The Amalfi Coast is a 50-kilometer stretch of coastline along the southern edge of Italy’s Sorrentine Peninsula, in the Campania region. It’s a popular holiday destination, with sheer cliffs and a rugged shoreline dotted with small beaches and pastel-colored fishing villages. The coastal road between the port city of Salerno and clifftop Sorrento winds past grand villas, terraced vineyards and cliffside lemon groves.
Positano is a cliffside village on southern Italy's Amalfi Coast. It's a well-known holiday destination with a pebble beachfront and steep, narrow streets lined with boutiques and cafes.
Capri, an island in Italy’s Bay of Naples, is famed for its rugged landscape, upscale hotels and shopping, from designer fashions to limoncello and handmade leather sandals.
Praiano is a town and comune of the province of Salerno in the Campania region of southwest Italy. It is situated on the Amalfi Coast, a prime tourist location for the region and Italy alike, between the towns of Amalfi and Positano.

We've spent many euro-summers chasing a tan and some decent imagery for our gallery. It's an incredible location to shoot - it's like time has stood still in an exquisite beachside location.
