Autumn time, best light. Bondi 6:40am

Global

A lot of people read Aquabumps from overseas. I’d guess about a third of my 50,000 daily readers are abroad. Probably a lot of expat Aussies missing home. I know if I was sitting in a cubicle in London, looking at these pics would trigger a unconscious twitch. Hey…I once sat in a cubicle…for 10 years…dreaming of being down the beach too. In fact that was one of my main motivations to start Aquabumps – bring the beach to those that can’t get down there. That was 16 years ago!

I digress.

My point is that it’s a beautiful, crisp, Autumn (waveless) morning at Bondi. It’s the type of golden morning that I’d miss if I was overseas. Scroll down…and smell the brine.

  1. Uge, you make even the ‘waveless’ days look fantastic. Just a wonderful collection today!

  2. Spot on, Uge! Your daily reports from Bondi (and Hawaii, The Ment’s, etc., etc.) were the highlight of my day for all those years stuck in offices in the nether regions of SE Asia. Those little rays of sunshine, transported from the golden sands and sparkling waves, via your lens, to the screen of my phone, as I grabbed my morning coffee in amongst those jungles of concrete, were my little escape to better (and familiar) places. Thanks for that, mate!

  3. I’m in Costa Rica and about 10 months into a trip.
I love seeing what Bondi is up to each day.
    It’s my luxurious weather update.

  4. Yep! I dearly miss that light you capture so beautifully – as I sit at my desk in an office with no windows in northern England, looking at your pictures transports me home for an instant each day – thank you

    1. Cheers mate. Used to live in Australia and now am in the US. Deeply miss the Australian beaches and the warm Aussie sun. Your daily email is a dose of Vitamin D. Can’t wait to have a proper living room to hang a piece of your artwork on the wall.

  5. I moved from Bondi to Oslo exactly two years ago. Love seeing the pics you post each day. They either put a big smile on my face or when it’s snowing and -10 outside they make me cry! Keep them coming mate, love your work 🙂

  6. What a beautiful day, Uge! It seems like your work has been bringing smiles all around the world, including here in Porto Alegre (Brazil) as well. Keep it up mate. Cheers

  7. Thanks dear, for the goods remmembered and the nice photos, I’m in Brazil thinking everyday in Bondi. kisses. Celia
