The North Side

We live in a great place. As international and some interstate travel is on hold, I’m spending this time at home, re-exploring our backyard and loving it.

Surprisingly, I’ve shot Sydney very little as I’ve been distracted with international destinations. Aquabumps is partnering with Destination NSW over the next few weeks to show you Sydney in a different light, some well-known locations and some hidden gems. Hopefully, through my imagery, you will be inspired to explore and have a ‘staycation’ – in turn, helping kick start our local economy. After bushfires and COVID – it’s needed.

Today’s exploration was from Palm Beach to Manly – Sydney’s salubrious Northern Beaches. Sydney is like a cracked eggshell – there’s just so many nooks and crannies in our coast. Bay after bay line Sydney’s coast, all with their own personalities, ocean pools, villages and surf breaks.

Many of our surfing heroes spawn from the north side – its always a telltale sign of good, consistent surf.

I flew over all the beaches, doing my morning surf check – there seemed to be head high waves on most south exposed beaches. Freshie + Curly looked fun!

  1. Amazing pics Uge – I live in Barcelona but my brother got married in Palm Beach last year so managed to see some of this coastline – it really is a special part of the world!
