World Environment Day

Since 1973 today, June 5, has been World Environment Day. Today is a reminder that people’s actions on plastic pollution matter…

No, it’s not Sculpture By the Sea – it’s a massive pile of plastic sh!t on Bondi Beach this morning. Like many on the promenade, it’s laid in a fabulous curly fashion!

United Nations is challenging us all to find solutions to beat plastic pollution. Better Packing Co. (behind today’s beach Poo) has developed POLLASTIC, a range of packaging made from recycled plastic pollution. This year alone, BPCo. will rescue 1 million kgs of plastic pollution from the environment in SE Asia.

GROUNDSWELL
Groundswell raises money for high-impact, strategic climate action and grants it to climate organisations around the country. ‘Do it for the kids’ is Groundswell’s fundraising campaign for World Environment Day 2023. I’m stoked to be supporting Groundswell. They’re raising much-needed funds to power climate action. Right now. Donate here

WAVES
The waves were diabolical, fairly unrideable and shoulder high of close-out mush. Take a day off. I don’t think I saw anyone surf a decent wave all morning.
