burnt orange
This micro ENE swell is neglecting beaches like Bondi which are currently 1 foot. At exposed beaches (La Bra) you’d find 2 feet…but the 6:45am high tide was putting some chub into these struggling conditions – towards the lower tide you may have some more options. Great conditions with a baking summers day and light winds. Deluxe maximum of 27 degrees predicted today. Get outside and enjoy it. Tomorrow looks smaller and not surfable.

mark III + 9
Today is a big day for Aquabumps for two reasons:

a) we’ve just clocked another year and Aquabumps has turned 9…no party this year kids, wait for 10. That’s 9 years of early morning shooting and ramble. 9 years of good folk reading this little corner of the web…thanks for everyone tuning in (close to 28,000 daily) – I still can’t believe so many people read Aquabumps with what started as just a little email between mates. Special thanks to Returnity who push this email newsletter out. Thanks Maddog, Ness, Jamie, Mikala, Mischee, Zac, Debs, Brett (for the Fuji gx617 loan), all the advertisers, Aquatech, Carl Woodward, Meescha (legal), Kelvinator (host master) and all the swimmercams for being good sports.

and…

b) and we’re now shooting with the salubrious new Canon 1ds Mark III. Yes camera geeks I got one…all 21.1 mega pixels of it…and the waiting list is worth it…and the focus is incredible…and the colours insane…and if you play your cards right you might even be able to touch it.

Later, uge
