This is how the day started over Ben Buckler

LayDay

We have had it pretty good lately so a day off is ok. Today it’s howling onshore and 3 foot – no good. At 7:40am there wasn’t a surfer in the water (which is sums the morning up well). There’s been a few showers, but they seem to be clearing.

This Sunday is a big one in Bondi when 150,000 roll up for the finish of the City to Surf Run. The corporate tents dominate Bondi beachscape, the speed humps have been removed from the car park (love that) and the council has been busy cleaning up the area, buffing the road signs, removing the discarded mattresses etc. The forecast on Sunday is for rain though – that breaks its sunny tradition. The good news is that from City to Surf on we’re in the final straight to summer. If you’re running, come see us afterwards in the Aquabumps Gallery (no, we’re not having a street party like in 2008, I must be maturing…so no riot Police required).

There’s a new Rangie about to arrive in Australia (Nov)…it is called the Evoque. This weekend you can be one of the 1st to check it out at Bondi Westfield (to see if you 6’1” fits in it – of course). 10-6, Sat/Sun in front of Rebel Sport Bondi Junction.

  1. That first shot of Ben Buckler is epic – love it! Saw the new rangies in westfield too, pretty smart looking cars. The red one has my vote. All the best for those running on Sunday!

  2. Been enjoying your photos since we visited my daughter there in Sydney last year. She signed us up on your mailing list so we now enjoy your beautiful city through your photos.

Your video was also outstanding. Love to see more of that too.

I can’t afford your art but I sure do love getting your photo newsletters.

  3. Uge,

I been on your mailing list for a couple of years now. Enjoy you pictures very much. Maybe you can make the trip to Peru some day. We have plenty of surf sports and good surfers you can shoot. Keep putting your videos up. Last one was very nice.

    Congrats.
