Is it safe to go in the water? Well… it’s incredibly brown and smells funny after all the flooding. There’s quite a bit of sewerage in our harbour ways and oceans right now – so it’s really up to you. I’ve been surfing (good waves on the weekend), but I make sure I don’t drink it and flush it out thoroughly, including using ear drops.
Northern beaches look like they’ve got filthy water as @BeachwatchNSW (NSW government) issues plenty of warnings over that side.
High tide was 6:30 am, so Bondi had fat waves, improving slightly on lower tides. Crowds are light, and lefts are plentiful. Chest high to the odd head high set. Light winds (currently 1 knot).
It’s likely the rain will continue tomorrow and Wednesday.
