Kid Caleb, lining up a nice chunk

Washout

My shoot this morning was a complete washout. It’s pouring and the winds are howling. Swell is up though, 4-5 footers and only getting bigger – should be 6-8 foot on dark. Quality is VERY poor, as the wind butchers anything moving.

So today we are going to revisit some images from Bronte last week. Some nice chunky south east swell and grooming offshores. Completely different to what you’d see today.

Placky bags

The average person uses about 500 plastic bags each year, for about twelve minutes each. This single-use mentality has led to the formation of a floating island of plastic debris in the Pacific Ocean more than twice the size of Texas. Fact. 1. yo uge!

love the fact that you give attention to the plastic mess in our beloved playground; the ocean.. You might have heard about, but definitely like, this project which tries to eliminate waste from the ocean. It is the idea of a Dutch engineer who loves to surf as well! check their website!! : http://www.plasticisland.org/

until this is realized, we should all adopt the routine to pick up 2 pieces of plastic when leaving the beach/ocean.. a well known idea but hardly realized!

Keep up the good work uge!

    Cheers, Balder

  2. Uge,

Can you take that spam mail pop-up off the site? I just want to look at it, when it suits me in my own time, that’s what I’ve been doing for the last 7 years or so?

    Thanks.

    Damon

    1. Royal Highness Damon,

Firstly it is not spam pop up. I put that pop up there, and it’s a subscription box to my mailing list which is a crafted free email each day. I’ll say again. free. Crafted too…so I’d rather not call is spam. Takes 4-5 hrs a day to craft your slice from the beach

Sorry you don’t like it. It’s got a cookie on it, which means you’ll only see it once and once only. If you are seeing it more than that – please let me know, as that is not right.

Thanks for coming back for 7 years.

      Uge
