There are a lot of places I’d rather be right now.
Don’t get me wrong, sitting in a dark room above the Aquabumps Gallery pumping out the daily ritual of 5 photos and ramble is better than licking stamps or diggin’ a holes for a living. A mate of mine, Sam, just walks around his office floor holding a piece of paper looking busy all day.
Its official – THE SURF IS PUMPING. Swell is super clean, refined, SSE. Waves at exposed breaks are 6 – 8 foot. (tick) The sunshine is out (tick) perfect offshores NW (tick). Offshore all day (bonus tick). 22 degrees forecasted – hottest day in a long time (tick). So I can’t fault today. You could pretty much drive in any direction away from the Eastern suburbs and you will score some waves. To reiterate, the Eastern Suburbs is just not ideal in these conditions. Local breaks struggle to hold size. Anything north or south would be on fire.
Tengirri
Mentawai is calling. 2009 charters are filling up on Tengirri. You really need to get a few mates together and book now for 2009. Early season is the go. Feb/march tours available. Sometimes the most uncrowded and best times of the season. Contact Anthony@tengirri.com
