Sydney Philharmonic singers pushing out an early note at cold Bondi today

Philharmonic

Hola…

There is always something going on down at Bondi. This morning’s treat was the Sydney Philharmonic Choir singing as we went about our morning rituals. At less than 7 degrees around 6:30am, with frosty offshores, I bet they couldn’t wait to get off the beach.

Surf : today is knee to a freak chest high set. Tomorrow bigger and Wednesday and Thursday could get up to double head high (off a SE swell with howling SW winds). Let’s see how it lines up. Cold week ahead…rug up.

How good was the surf on Saturday just gone huh? Where did you surf? East-Nor-East facing beaches were pumping.

Don’t forget our Aquabumps Gallery is now open 7 days a week (that means today). 10am to 6pm, 151 Curlewis Street Bondi Beach NSW 2026 Telephone 9130 7788

Adios :: uge

PS – if you are flying Singapore Airlines this month we’re in the inflight mag, lil’ story on Bondi/Aquabumps more

  1. where did you surf on saturday ? over the rocks, far north corner of a south coast beachie on saturday, low tide just ridiculous, even the 1 footers were kegging, sets were just stand up pits, 3 guys out, sunshine, happy days

    Been watching your site silently for a few years now and loving the morning updates when sitting at my desk. Your “1st light wave” is one of my all time favourites. It looks like one of the little toy soldiers from Toy Story riding a surf board.

    Do you use a tilt-shift lens or is that all done in post production ?

  3. Jeez Uge,
    You probably dont know it, but that first picture is a mirror shot of a movie scene from “City of Angels”.
    The Angels gather at the beach dressed in black to watch the LA sunrise every morning.
    Its eerily similar!
    Lovin your work!

  4. Anyone missing a mal found wedged in the rocks this morning (3/7/11)? It is missing it’s owner and wants to go home…
